As I have shared before my workspace is in our living area. The benefit to this is the openness and the central location. The downside to it is all of my supplies have taken over our dining table and it isn’t the best sight for eyes. All of my crafting supplies are strung out yet somewhat organized. I am going to tackle creating a space in my room, where there is no room left for anything. I plan on reorganizing my whole space basically without moving any furniture. Impossible, likely but I am going to give it my all. This may be tackled in one day but it could take a few. Below is a picture of my room pre-craft space. I definitely have a challenge set before me.
Sorry, the picture isn’t the best quality. The glare from my window is intense. It is that area that I am transforming into my craft space. I would’ve gotten a more up-close picture but I am a bit ashamed at the dust that has collected. After this process, all should be nice and shiny. Next is a picture about midway through.
I had to remove everything from my mini desk, dust and bring everything from the original crafting table into my room. I pulled everything out and threw away a lot of junk. I used old containers for storage and bought a few things for storage.
To the far right is a magazine holder which is hanging from my window sill. The mint and white round containers are new. Purchased them for dirt cheap. I also bought a card file to file my finished cards in. On the bottom four cubbies, I have my stamps and inks, vintage postcards and small cutouts that will be hung in a day or so from small storage racks. Then I have boxes of cards and my tag punch. I thought I would need the drawer or inside space but luckily, I didn’t.
The two above pictures are shelves that housed my TV and DVD player. I removed all of it and stored it elsewhere. The top of the dresser has a wire bin that will hold finished projects. To the right are small notebooks wedged between my folder holder which has my sketchbook and planner in it. To the left is another mint and white container with adhesives in it. The bottom two shelves will be for paper storage and markers.
An armoire that holds pics of my grandparents, my lotions and sprays and of course, notebooks.
I am quite satisfied with the outcome. Now I am on the hunt for a chair. I finally put the new comforter that I got for Christmas on my bed. I must say, it all came together nicely.
Are you limited on crafting space? What are some space saving ideas that you use?
After I set up my new space, I come home to these two gifts from my Ma! A turquoise chair and a larger three-drawer storage container, both with wheels!! How sweet and amazing is she?
