The week in the life of a new blogger-NYAC

Hey Chicks!

*this post contains affiliate links. See disclaimer*

I am not a new blogger, per say, as the title of this post suggests but I am new to monetizing my content and it has been an insanely busy week here in the Hen House!

A little about what is going on behind the scenes….  This Chick has stayed hard at work communicating with merchants about ways to promote products, earn income and learning ways to generate traffic.  We are growing, slowly but surely.

Generating Traffic

During this week we have established two new accounts!  Facebook and Pinterest.  Neither of the accounts are fully set up but they are a work in progress.  Check us out! Our Instagram, @nyac333, has gained 42 followers! Yay!  I will soon add Facebook and Pinterest buttons for easier access.

Learning the ropes of blogging is an ongoing process.  Social media platforms are an asset for promoting your blog.  In order to gain followers, it is an almost absolute must. Expanding your readability is no easy task.  It takes hard work and dedication on top of publishing bomb ass content.

A few articles have listed building a community as a priority and I couldn’t agree more. I am fortunate to belong to the WordPress mental health community.  My first blog, a free site, garnered my full attention for a year before I purchased a personal plan and began NYAC.  It was there I was taught the importance of community. The comradery formed with my fellow bloggers will last a lifetime.  Many of my loyal followers have chosen to follow along with this journey with me. Now that’s support! (shout out :))

Earning Income

In my post Affiliate Marketing for the Newbie, I discussed 3 simple steps to take your blog to a monetary level.  The last of the suggestions being to contact the affiliate director and thank them for accepting you into the program.  Keeping an open line of communication will benefit you in the long run.  It allows you access to product experts who can guide you in selling a specific product.  Maintaining this relationship is important in your success.

During my research, I have learned many ways to earn income as a blogger.  Affiliate marketing is my first attempt at doing so. Focusing on mastering one area is a goal that I have set out to achieve.  There is a surplus of information available that should help keep me on task. Collectively I have gathered that with patience and diligence, you will reap the rewards.

Now, add a full-time job and a part-time job on top of that and you have yourself a workload!! The more I dive into developing this site, the more confident I become.  It is intimidating and overwhelming at times but thanks to those who have been where I am, they have provided information that only experience can give you. I was getting a little ahead of myself but I quickly realized this and pulled the reins.  I still have a job to maintain to pay the bills so my available time is limited but my spare time is invested in growing my creative business and promoting my blog, along with documenting what I’ve learned. I am taking advantage of this opportunity and if would like to do the same, let’s chat!!!  Contact me via my contact page if you have any information or insider tips you would like to share with me.

That wraps it up for my busy week.

How has your week been?

Let’s chat in the comments!

Let’s form a community and be there for each other.
