Not Your Average Chick

Stationery Enthusiast & Mental Wellness Advocate

Yo! Chicks 🙂

It’s stayed pretty quiet on my end this past week.  I set out a schedule of things to focus on a month at a time and I gave myself a break until November.  I have actually taken myself up on it and been breaking. Lol

That is rare because I am usually constantly on the go.  It’s been nice, maybe a little too nice. I can’t let myself get lazy.

Beginning November I will focus solely on branding.  I will decide 100% on my exact colors, the hex codes, my fonts and will most likely purchase the new site.  I will be setting up a landing page so people can subscribe. I’m getting excited thinking about it. Eek!

After focusing on one aspect for 30 days I should become proficient in my skills.  Fingers crossed. I didn’t create as much last week either. A break is a break, right?

A while back I joined a few blogging groups on Facebook and as a way to expand I will be hosting guest posting spots.  Many other bloggers ask to share a post on any willing site and I thought it would be a nice way to bring people into our community.  I haven’t decided if I will accept the post every Thursday or every other Thursday but I do have two bloggers scheduled for November. If you are interested you can email me at

with the subject guest post.

I will then attach a sheet for the guidelines and we can agree on a date that you will submit.  I am keeping the focus as personal experience or creative writings that deal with mental health.  Or any post that discusses stationery in a fun way.

I think this will be a positive contribution to the blogging community.

Halloween is two days away and it’s sad I don’t have a youngster who goes trick or treating, mine is all grown. I dressed up for years but have fallen out of character the older I’ve gotten.  I do love me some Halloween though. The decorations and candy make me smile. I will hand out candy this year but the kids better rush to my house before I eat it all.! We celebrated with a party over the weekend and it was great times.  I enjoy making memories that do not require effort.

That’s about all I have for now.  I will resume regular content on Thursday.  Have a lovely week! Chow~ Candace Lynne

What are you or your kids dressing up as?

Do y’all dress as a family theme?

Share pics in the comments.  I would love to see them 🙂

I’m a bit (okay a lot) spacey at the moment, but once my brain’s a little more functional I’ll definitely jump on board for a guest post.
